Last updated: DRAFT 16 Oct 2026, set on launch
In short: if I cancel, you get everything back. If you need to move your date, we'll try to reschedule first. If you're a consumer, you have 14 days to change your mind. If you cancel after that, I keep only what covers the work already done and the date I held for you.
1. If you're a consumer: your 14-day right to cancel
If you book for personal use, not for a business, and we agree the booking online, by email or by phone, you can cancel within 14 days of the day the contract is made, without giving a reason. This right comes from the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013.
- To cancel, email kian@kjgmedia.co.uk with your name, the project and the date you booked. A clear statement is enough.
- If you ask me to start work during the 14 days (for example planning, or a shoot that falls inside that period) and then cancel, you'll pay a proportionate amount for the work done up to then.
- If the service has been completed within the 14 days at your request, you lose the right to cancel.
- I'll refund what's due within 14 days of you telling me, using the payment method you used, unless we agree otherwise.
Business clients don't have this statutory cooling-off period. The rest of this policy applies to everyone.
2. If you cancel after that
Your deposit secures the date (I turn other work away for it) and covers planning that starts straight away, so it's normally non-refundable once the 14-day period has passed. If you cancel:
| Notice before the shoot | What you pay |
|---|---|
| More than 30 days | The deposit only |
| 8–30 days | The deposit, plus 25% of the total |
| 7 days or less | The full fee |
Any costs I've already paid out for your project (such as location hire, crew or equipment hire) are payable in addition, with receipts provided. If I'm able to rebook the date, or if my loss turns out to be lower, I'll reduce the charge accordingly. I won't keep more than reasonably reflects the work done and the loss of the date.
3. Rescheduling
- You can move your shoot once at no charge with at least 14 days' notice. Your deposit carries over to a new date within 6 months, subject to availability.
- For outdoor shoots where the weather would ruin the result, we'll agree a new date together. No fee applies either way.
- If you're unwell or there's an emergency, tell me as soon as you can and I'll be flexible.
4. If I have to cancel
If I cancel or can't attend for any reason, you can choose a new date or a full refund of everything you've paid, including the deposit. I'll only arrange a replacement videographer or photographer if you agree to it.
5. If something's wrong with the work
Tell me within 14 days of delivery. If the work doesn't match what we agreed, or wasn't carried out with reasonable care and skill, I'll put it right at no cost. If I can't, you're entitled to a fair price reduction, which can be a full refund. If you're a consumer, these rights come from the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and nothing in this policy reduces them. Refunds aren't given for changing your mind after you've approved the final delivery.
6. Ongoing content arrangements
Recurring arrangements can be ended with 30 days' written notice. Work already shot or in progress is invoiced as normal.
